Welcome

Welcome to the Partners for Prosperity (P4P) Adult Education & Training Community Website!

Since its first meeting in October, 2004, the Adult Education & Training Working Group (AETWG) has been actively emphasizing the importance of education for adults who want to get a General Education Diploma (GED), get a job or get a better paying job. A background of basic knowledge is indispensable for active participation in our region's social, economic and cultural life. For these reasons, the mission of the Partners for Prosperity Adult Education & Training Working Group is to identify gaps in education for adults and move closer to eradicating illiteracy and by so doing, combat poverty and exclusion.

One of the goals of our Working Group is to establish relationships and build partnerships with other groups, organizations and community members who are interested in adult education. One of the ways we're able to do that is by funding initiatives in our region which will help adults receive the education and training they need to realize greater independence and economic well-being. The group has recently voted to fund GED scholarships for students at Eastern Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls, and Idaho State University in Pocatello. A Financial Literacy Partnership initiative with a goal of implementing basic money management education Custer and Lemhi counties was also voted on and funded by the Group.

Please consider membership in our Working Group. It requires no experience, no expertise, just an interest in adult education. There are no fees or dues. All of the P4P working group meetings are on-going and anyone may join at any time. If you have any questions, click on Contact Information and get in touch with us. Also, if you are a community member and would require transportation and/or child care reimbursement, please let any P4P staff member know at the meeting. You will be required to fill out a simple form for our accounting purposes, but your name and the information you provide will be held strictly confidential.
